Corporate Governance is a framework of rules and practices by which an organization's business is operated, regulated and is controlled. A well design corporate governance framework ensures accountability, fairness and transparency in the relationship between the Board of Directors of the organization and its stakeholders. The stakeholders includes the employees of the company, customers, suppliers, financiers, government and the community.
In recent years, corporate governance has received increase attention because of high-profile scandals involving abuse of corporate power and, in some cases, alleged criminal activity by corporate officers.
